The Wave Demo, London
More than 50,000 people came together in London to demand action on climate change on Saturday 5th Dec 2009 at The Wave. It was the biggest climate change march in the world ever! Campaigners called for the Government to take much more urgent and effective action on climate change. Not only did Ed Miliband (former Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change) attend, but Gordon Brown invited 24 Wave supporters to 10 Downing Street after the event to hear their demands. People from all over the UK dressed in blue encircled Parliament, calling on the UK government to settle for nothing less than a climate deal in Copenhagen that avoids dangerous climate change and protects the world’s poorest who are already feeling its effects. http://www.stopclimatechaos.org/the-wave
